& Urbanization of Men Seminar were held in Beijing

On August 31, 2014,“China Urban Forum 100” held its inaugural meeting namely “Urbanization of Men”in the first lecture hall of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The firstmembers of “China Urban Forum 100” from the ministries and departments of theCentral Government of China, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy ofSocial Sciences, Chinese Academy of Engineering, Peking University, Tsinghua University,Renmin University of China among other famous universities and researchinstitutes attended the meeting.

The seminar was held by Prof. Mao Qizhi, Deputy Dean of theSchool of Architecture, Tsinghua University. Wang Weiguang, President of the ChineseAcademy of Social Sciences first delivered a speech. Xu Kuangdi, Honorary Chairmanof the Presidium of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Yang Weimin, Deputy Directorof the Central Committee’s Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs,Cai Fang, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, deliveredthematic speeches on “Urbanization of Men”, respectively. Ni Pengfei, Directorof the Center for City and Competitiveness, CASS, made a report to explain thepreparations of the forum and related documents. The report made by Director NiPengfei and the opinions on the amendment of the forum charter were put to thevote at the meeting.

Ji Baoping, Standing Vice President of China Society ofUrban Economy, announced the establishment of the forum. Mr. Wang Weiguang,Chairman Xu Kuangdi, Vice Chairman Chen Zongxing, former Construction MinisterWang Guangtao and Prof. Niu Wenyuan from Chinese Academy of Sciences unveiledthe establishment of China Urban Forum 100 together.

Members of the forum Wu Liangyong, Wang Guangtao, FangWeicheng, Jiang Yi, Wang Zhan, Xiao Jincheng, Gu Shengzu, Pan Jiahua, TangZilai, Zhou Daming, Li Xun, Fan Jie, Liu Zhi, Yang Kaizhong, Ye Yumin, Tao Ran,Lu Ming had in-depth communication on the theme of the meeting and the work ofthe forum.

Prof. Niu Wenyuan from Chinese Academy ofSciences made a concluding speech.
