Professor LiXiaoxi, Deputy Director of Beijing Normal University (BNU) Academic Committeeand Director of Institute of Economics and Resource Management at BNU, isDoctoral Supervisor, State Council Special Allowance Expert and BeijingOutstanding Teacher. He once served as the Director of Macroeconomic ResearchDepartment under the State Council Research Office. Now he serves as Convenerof Ministry of Education Economic Department, Expert of National Social ScienceFund Project Subjects Review Panel, Expert Consultative Committee Member of theState Council Tariff Policy Committee, Vice President of China MarketingAssociation, Executive Director of China Society for Finance and Banking,Executive Director of The Regional Science Association of China, ExecutiveDirector of China Social Insurance Association, Special Director of China PriceAssociation, Director of China State-owned Assets Management Association,Senior Adviser of China Health Economics Association Academic Committee, SeniorEconomic Adviser of China Economy Information Net under State InformationCenter and member of China Economists 50 Forum. He is also appointed Part-timeProfessor of Peking University, Renmin University of China, Chinese Academyof Social Sciences Graduate School and many other colleges and universities(research institutes). He has been successively invited as Economic Adviser orConsultant by five provinces and five cities: Shanxi,Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi,Qinghai, Hunan,Harbin, Guangzhou,Lanzhou, Chengdu,Zhoushan. He has also acted as Distinguished Expert of "TaishanScholar" issued by Shandonggovernment, Expert of Beijing Social Science and Natural Science Associationand Expert Consultation Committee Member of Beijing Municipal Planning.
Since the middle1980s, Professor Li Xiaoxi has actively advocated Economic Marketization Reformand achieved fruitful results, which has big influences. He has made a positivecontribution to China’sMarketization Reform. Since 2000, through comprehensive and in-depththeoretical studies of market economy, he has made significant theoreticalcontributions to our country’s struggling for market economy status andanti-dumping. In 2009, he has been elected by Chinese Academyof Social Sciences as one of "100 Economists Impacting 60 years of NewChina’s Economic Construction".
Professor LiXiaoxi has long engaged in economic policy studies, providing references fornational policy decisions. His many policy suggestions have caused centralgovernment leading officials’ attentions and got their approvals andinstructions. In recent years, he has presided and completed dozens ofnational-level and provincial-level projects like National Natural ScienceFoundation Major Project and National Social Science Foundation Major Project,Ministry of Education Humanities and Social Science Project, projects ofrelevant Ministries and Commissions under the State Council and etc. Hepresided and completed

Professor LiXiaoxi puts special emphasis on theoretical research, who has published morethan 300 theoretical theses on important journals as Qiushi, People's Daily,Guangming Daily, Economic Research and China Reform. He has hosted to completeimportant reports as “Development Report of China’s Market Economy” and "China'sEconomic Trajectory in the New Century". He has organized scholars totranslate and compile “Natural Resources and Energy Economics Manual”, whoseeditor-in-chief is Nobel Economics Prize winner Kenneth•Arrow. He has writtenmore than 10 books as “Macroeconomics” (Chinese version), “China: NewOutlook on Development”. “China's Economic Reform for 30 Years(Marketization)”, which was compiled chiefly by him, has been elected to join“Key Books To Celebrate the 60th Anniversary of China’s Foundation” issued byCPC Publicity Department and General Administration of Press and Publication(GAPP). His chiefly-edited “Assessing the Extent of China’s Marketization” waspublished by British Ashgate Publishing Ltd, and “China Economic and ResourceManagement Research Report: China's Economic Development under InternationalEconomic Crisis” jointly issued by Encyclopedia of China Publishing House andAmerican NOVA Publishing House. His major works and theses have been awarded 15national economics prizes as "The 11th Sun Yefang Economics Award","The first Xue Muqiao Price Research Award", "The 13th ChinaBook Award".
