Director Ni Pengfei Makes Speeches in 2013 Beijing Forum
On November 1st, 2013, the 10th session of Beijing Forum unveiled in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. In the three-day forum, over 300 top experts from China, UK, USA, Singapore and other nations made heated discussions on “Environmental Protection”, “Sustainable Civilization”, “Sustainable Development”, “High Education Globalization” and other topics.
Ni Pengfei, the director of Center for City and Competitiveness of CASS, made a speech, titled as “Trade Gap Accounts for Urbanization Lag ” in “Sustainable Development” forum.
The topic of this session is “Civilization Harmony and Co-prosperity ---- Review and Prospect”. Han Qide, Vice President of 12th CPPCC, President of China Association for Science and Technology, and Director of Peking University Health Science Center, Joseph Reid, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, and Kevin Rudd, former prime minister of Australia attended the opening ceremony; Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations, and Bill Clinton, former president of USA, acknowledged the development of Beijing Forum in last ten years and gave their best regards on the video footage.
Beijing Forum is an international academic conference, co-sponsored by Peking University, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education and the Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies. The forum was held every year, starting in 2004. Now it’s already 10 years old.
