Prof. Zhang XiaoTong, Director of Institute of Quantitative Economics of Nankai University, lectures in Center

   The Center (the Center for City and Competitiveness of CASS) invited Prof. Zhang XiaoTong, the director of Institute of Quantitative Economics of Nankai University, to lecture “Contemporary Quantitative Econometric Model System and Cutting-edge Research” in the afternoon of January 13rd, 2014. This lecture was hosted by Prof. Ni Pengfei. Researchers from the center including Chen Fei, Zou Linhua, Li Chao, Yang Xiaolan, Yang Hui, Yang Jie, Li Chao, Li Mian, Guo Han and Zhou Xiaobo were present.

Prof. Zhang XiaoTong made a brief introduction on contemporary quantitative econometric model system firstly, and then some cutting-edge researches on unit root test, time sequence mode, simultaneous equations model, disperse dependent variable model, limit dependent variable model, quantile regression model, panel data model, state-space model, nonlinear time sequence model, secondary moment model, seasonal adjustment model, Monte Carlo simulation and program, and relevant fields. After the lecture, all center members present had a heated discussion with Prof. Zhang Xiaodong. Later, Prof. Ni Pengfei, on behalf of the Center, issued an Agreement of Employment to Prof. Zhang XiaoTong, hiring him as a specially honored researcher of the Center for City and Competitiveness of CASS.
